2 April 2009 - Berlin

We walked around Alexander Platz, and found many fantastic sights-- as well as some hilarious ones (in my sometimes-rather-immature opinion).

This is by Alexander Platz, what used to the city center for West Berlin. I like the timeless gears mixed with the modern traffic light and the old tower in the background. Makes for an interesting mix.

Again, I like the juxtaposition, the contrast of the old and new. Seems to be a continuing theme.

"Big Hamburger Street." Not really, but I liked it. The good thing is that there were actually no McDonalds around the area-- one of few French Fry-free zones thus far...

This is the Neue Synagoge (New Synagogue), which is located on Oranianburger StraBe. Guards were patrolling in front of the building regularly, and did not appreciate onlookers taking photos of them.

A rather unearthly picture of the Berlin Philharmonie. Pictures weren't technically allowed, so this is the only one I managed to take before I realized there were approximately five security cameras in my vincinity.
